I wrote this song and included our favorite New Year song Auld Lang Syne back in 2017, not knowing the heartbreak 2017 would bring me of losing my husband of 33 years. Now 2018 has passed and I didn’t know I would have the additional heartbreak of losing my mother. With every coming year we may have new challenges and new sorrows to experience and overcome. Life can be very difficult for us all but through it all we know we have a loving God and Savior who cares and will see us through all things.
In Philippians 4, the apostle Paul writes that he has learned to be content in all circumstances. At the time he was in prison, even chained to a Praetorian Guard and still rejoicing. The entire book of Philippians can be such a comfort to us all during tough times. Paul knew what tough times were but he never let sorrows, beatings or persecutions destroy his love of spreading the gospel of salvation to the cause of Christ. How thankful I am to the letters he left us in the New Testament that gives each of our hope in Christ. Paul assured us in all his letters that the trials of this life are just a moment compared to the joy we will one day experience with our Savior when he will reunite us with our loved ones in Christ at that great gathering in heaven.
So I would like to wish all of you a very HAPPY NEW YEAR and MAY ALL YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE!!
