We have such an awesome God!! Even after we failed HIM in the beginning with sin, HE has never forsaken us!! HE sent HIS glorious son to redeem us from all sin and then provided a way that we can still communicate with HIM. That special phone line is called prayer. Prayer is such a wonderful gift and we should take advantage of it every day. HE not only invites this communication but never tires of us calling upon HIM. It is as though we have an invitation right into HIS very throne room!! An appointment is never needed. HE will always have time for us no matter the day or the hour.
Prayer always requires faith and Jesus said that if we had the faith of a mustard seed, the tiniest of all seeds, we could move mountains!! There is so much power in prayer if we would just realize how wonderful this gift from God is. Many times we have the tendency to say, “Well, the least we can do is pray.” No, the opposite is true!! The most we can do is pray!! Without God involved, we are so puny in all our efforts!!
God has promised us that if we pray according to HIS will and abide in HIM and HE in us, that HE will give us the desires of our hearts. We should avoid anything that would hinder our prayers such as willful disobedience. Even though God does not always answer with a yes, HE will always respond in a way that HE knows is best for us. Many times we don’t understand until many years later when we realize how foolish our requests may have been.
However, when God does grant us a yes answer, we can rejoice!! I think that many prayers went out during this election. My prayers during this time was that America would cease its willful sinning and turn our direction towards HIM. Besides prayer, humility, repentance, a great seeking of God is needed. My prayer for this country is that we will renew our faith in God once again. I pray that we will be a beacon of light to the world as we once were. Let’s all join together in the power of prayer and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. Reflecting on these thoughts, I just wrote the following song.
WHEN GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS, LET’S BE THANKFUL,
FOR HIS MERCY TO HEAR EVERY VOICE,
FOR LOVINGLY GRANTING OUR NEEDS AND PETITION
GIVES US GREAT CAUSE TO REJOICE!!
GOD’S SO GRACIOUS IN HIS ANSWERS,
AS WE PRAY IN ACCORDANCE TO HIS WILL,
SO OFTEN HE GIVES MUCH MORE THAN WE ASK,
AND MORE THAN A CUP DOES HE FILL!!
PRAYER IS OUR SHIELD AGAINST EVIL,
OUR SWORD AGAINST DARK FORCES OF NIGHT,
OUR SOLACE IN TIMES OF GREAT ANGUISH,
OUR GUIDANCE OF HIS HOLY LIGHT.
