MISTER ARE YOU JESUS?

I love to listen to Christian radio and heard a certain pastor tell a beautiful story about a salesman along with his friends who had been to a sales convention and now were anxious to get home to see their families. It was Christmas eve. and all of them were in a hurry to catch their plane when they accidentally bumped into a young girl’s fruit stand and apples flew everywhere. The story intrigued me and brought tears to my eyes as I listened intently to what happened at the end. I decided to immediately write a song about this most beautiful story. After doing so, I discovered I was not alone. A famous Christian artist put this story to music as well and his song along with a video is just so beautiful. The following is my own version: The words I put together for the story are as follows:

Narration-I HEARD A BEAUTIFUL STORY ON CHRISTIAN RADIO TODAY,
AND IN A SONG WANT TO SHARE IN MY OWN MUSICAL WAY.

A SALESMAN WITH HIS FRIENDS WERE RUSHING TO THE AIRPORT GATE,
IT WAS CHRISTMAS EVE. AND THEY DIDN’T WANT TO BE LATE,

HE GAVE US SPRING-2

Feb. is almost over and soon we will be heading towards spring!! Yey!! My husband and I live in the foothills of Boise and collect a lot of snow. The snow now is beginning to melt and next month spring will be here, hopefully. Every season however, has it’s own unique beauty. I love the summertime when we can get out and do so many things in the sunshine, whether it be swimming, water skiing, or working in our yards to make them lovely.

Sometimes the heat may get to us and we long for the Fall and then comes another beautiful season. I love the leaves when they turn their various Autumn colors because they are so colorful and so gorgeous!!

Then comes the Winter with the cold and snow. It’s great for skiers at Bogus Basis and snow is indeed beautiful to look at when it covers the hills and valleys. It always reminds me of white cookie frosting or vanilla ice cream. Sometimes it also sparkles like diamonds when it reflects sunlight!!

Each season seems to be symbolic of our lives. Spring always symbolizes the beginning of life when everything seems to awaken.

Summer symbolizes the prime of life after we have learned from the things we have experienced during our time here. Then Fall symbolizes the beginning of decline like the leaves that fall from the trees and lastly Winter symbolizes the end of life.

Reflecting on this I decided to write a song about Spring because of all the seasons, it is the one I love the most. It represents more than just weather and even our own lives. It represents to me my Savior and Easter time when HE rose from the grave. HE overcame the winter or death and brought LIFE to all of us. When Winter comes to take all of us, we can look forward to Spring again!! He gave us Spring or LIFE as a gift which I am so thankful. I have lost many loved ones during my life here and thankful this life is not the end of all things. There is Spring waiting all of us someday.

February will soon be coming to a close and with March comes spring and also Easter!!  The two just seem to go together, spring and Easter.  Of all the seasons, spring is one of my favorite because it reminds me of the beginning of new life.  The winter seems to be the end of life and then comes spring and the cycle of life begins once again!!

Spring is also the time Christians celebrate Easter and Easter always reminds me of the resurrection of our Lord and new life!! It is the beginning of all life again on earth.  The tulips and other spring flowers are the first to show us that life is coming to the earth again.  The animals who have awoke from their sleep are beginning to prepare once again for new family members.

Likewise our Savior is remembered for not only giving others life and raising them from the dead, but taking up his own life from the dead.  The tomb could not contain him and he emerged from it, glorious and radiant!!  Jesus said that in him was life and that he came to the earth to give that life with great abundance!!  We need to remember however, that there would be no resurrection if there had been no surrender on the part of Jesus to give up his life.  He had the power to stop it from happening but he chose instead to fulfill his tremendous love for each of us.  His life was necessary for our redemption!!  His death was necessary so we could live!!  Without his death, we would all still remain dead in our trespasses and sins!!  To remain in our sins would mean a forever separation from God!!  Jesus was the bridge to the stairway to Heaven and eternal happiness!!  How thankful I am for Jesus and His Wondrous Love!!  Without that love and his tremendous forgiveness, none of this would have been possible or achievable!!

One of the first songs I wrote was HIS WONDROUS LOVE.  It was at the beginning of my song writing and yet it has always been one of my favorite songs.  I decided to go back and remake the song with a little bit different music style.  Since it is almost spring and new life is about to emerge, this song as well has come to life again in a different way.  The words are as follows:

TEARS IN A BOTTLE

Jesus told us that in this life we would experience trials and tribulation.  If I could change one thing in this world it would be that no one would have to go through any kind of sorrow.  However, that is not the way life is.  Sorrow and tribulation began with the Fall.  In the beginning our first parents lived in a paradise world.  They had no idea what sorrow even was until the day they sinned and were cast out.  Then all their troubles began.  No longer would they be able to just pick their food off the vines or trees.  They would have to experience the toil of working hard for their food, planting and fighting the obnoxious weeds.  They would experience the pain of child birth and then the heartbreak of losing their son, Able. However, we can rejoice when Jesus told us that he overcame the world and its sorrows when he went to the cross.
When Jesus walked on the earth even though he was sinless, he himself experienced much sorrow and grief, far more than any of us could bear.  Jesus had to endure the sins of the world for us all!!  How can we even comprehend the sorrow and grief he felt on the cross when his Father could not even look upon him as he carried all of our sins!!  When Jesus cried out, “Father, Father, why hast thou forsaken me?”, he was in deep deep agony and this he bore for us all!!    Isaiah 53-54:3 says…”a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.”
That means more than ever Jesus can identity with our sorrows like no other!!  He even keeps all our tears in his special bottle for us in Heaven and no doubt mingled with his own tears. Though deity, he can identify with us.  He keeps record of all our tears and one day he will make everything that was wrong here right with us in heaven. He will wipe away all our tears!!  In Psalms 56:8, King David writes, “Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle; are they not in thy book?”  What a comfort those words are to us who have gone through much sorrow and grief.  One day there will be no more of any of this when we are with our glorious Savior who overcame the curse of the world!!

Losing our loved ones here is perhaps the hardest of all trials.  Not one of us can escape that kind of loss.  But as Christians we can look forward to reuniting with them in heaven!!  That is indeed a joy to look forward to.  I already have a baby and other loved ones I can’t wait to reunite with.  These last few days, however, I have been very sorrowed with the direction of our nation and the horrible events occurring around the world almost on a daily basis.  I feel like evil is overcoming goodness and the world seems to be on fire spiritually!!  However, I do know that one day goodness will triumph over all of this.  My soul longs for goodness to prevail!!  Out of my own sorrows, I wrote the song, TEARS IN A BOTTLE.  This song expresses the desperation of my soul for all these wrongs to be made right.  The words are as follows:

HE REIGNS

We all feel the unrest; the sense that the world is falling into despair. The news is full of uncertainty and trouble brewing all over the globe.  It grieves our hearts to know of the suffering of others but as Christians we know that God is still on the throne and aware of all these things. He has promised in HIS word that one day HE will return with wrath and judge the Nations of the world for the evil they have committed against HIM.  As Christians we need to be ready for that great day and put on our Spiritual Armor as stated in Ephesians 6:13 to extinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one.  The time will come when evil will be cast out forever from this earth and God will continue to reign in all HIS power and glory!!  In pondering over these future events I wrote the following song.

WHAT CHILD IS THIS

One of my favorite Christmas Carols is this song.  I was curious as to how this song came about so I looked up the history.  The lyrics were written in 1865 by William Chatterton Dix who I believe was an Englishman.  The lyrics came as a result of him seeking God and finding redemption through a severe illness.  Though a manager of an insurance company, his illness had put him in bed and left him with severe depression.  Because he nearly died, he sought out God like never before and wrote a poem called MANGER THRONE.  The lyrics were taken from this poem and later put to the well known English ballad called GREENSLEEVES.  Because of it’s beautiful haunting melody, they no doubt chose that melody for this man’s beautiful lyrics of MANGER THRONE.  The song then became labeled as the familiar Christmas song we all know and love.

I had just written a lullaby which now is the lullaby for my new little granddaughter.  Last year I decided to do my own arrangement of this beautiful Carol by inserting my lullaby within this beautiful song.  I did this imagining what lullaby Mary may have sung to this wondrous child that became our Savior, Lord, Redeemer and God in human flesh.  The words are as follows:

CHRISTMAS LULLABY 2015

A wonderful event occurred for me this year on Sept 2.  My little granddaughter, Camila was born to my son, Brandon and his beautiful wife, Natalia.  A year ago I wrote the Christmas lullaby song thinking of my own children when they were little.   Now I relate this song to my precious little granddaughter that I haven’t even got to hold yet!!  I dream of that day!!  I plan to hold her and sing this song to her and tell her many stories about Jesus, HIS marvelous birth, HIS wondrous teachings and how HE loved little children.

Little did I know that when I began writing this song, little Camila was already conceived and beginning life inside her mommy.  Something very special happened while Brandon and Natalia were attending a Christmas party one year ago.  A little boy came up to Natalia and ask her if she had a baby girl  inside of her.  At the time Natalia didn’t know that she was already pregnant and answered “I hope so, someday soon.” Then the little boy asked, “Are you going to name her Lisa?”  Natalia was amazed at the question because she knew that her husband, Brandon has a little sister in heaven named Lisa Ann.  I lost little Lisa on New  Year’s eve. many years ago.  She lived only 3 hours after she was born and was a heartache that lives with me to this day.  She was my first baby and my husband and I waited many years for her.  Likewise little Camila was a long awaited baby also.  How thankful we are for this special little girl. Though I’ve seen many pictures and videos of her, I still have not had the privilege of holding my little granddaughter and letting her know just how much her Grandma loves her!!   The other grandmother, Natalia’s mother is smiling also from heaven.  Cancer took her from us a few years ago and I know that she would feel as much joy as I if she were here today.  Here are the words to my Christmas lullaby:

OUR GREAT COMFORTER NEW VERSION

Life can be such a challenge at times. It can be full of complicated circumstances and trials that seem unbearable. The Bible never indicates “if” these things happen but “when” they happen we should always look up to our great comforter.

HE said that when we pass through the waters HE will be with us and that HE would never leave or forsake us. Like the FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND story HE will even carry us through our trials. Reflecting on these thoughts, I wrote the following song:

AND KNOW GOD WATCHES OVER YOU,
HE’S REALLY NOT THAT FAR.

SOMETHING BIG IS COMING

Jesus prophesied in Mathew 24:4 that in the last days there would be wars and rumors of wars and that nation would rise against nation. Famines and earthquakes in various places would be the beginning of birth pains that would signal a very big coming event.  With all the events that are happening today along with terrorism on the rise, we feel tense and uneasy that it is leading to something very very scary.  Some call it the beginning of the end.
The Bible prophecies all these events and the Book of Revelations and Daniel especially gives us information as to what we can expect before Jesus returns.  Though no one knows the exact time or date, we do know that Jesus warned HE will come like a thief in the night, when we least expect it.  He cautioned us to keep watch and pray that we can be accounted worthy to escape the calamity that will fall upon the earth.  The unfolding of events around the world is breeding much tension and concern for everyone.  We all feel it, that something big is coming!!  Out of current events I wrote the following song:

STORM CLOUDS ARE GATHERING
AWAKENING DREADFUL FEAR,
TENSION FELT AROUND THE WORLD,
THAT SOMETHING’S ALMOST HERE!!

SHOOTINGS AND BOMBINGS
ALMOST EVERY DAY,
AND TERRORISTS CLAIMING
EVEN MORE ARE ON THE WAY!!
